Dr. Özge Can has received his BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the Ege University, Izmir, Turkey in 2001. He started his master’s studies at the Izmir Institute of Technology and worked as a research and teaching assistant in the Department of Chemical Engineering. He then went to United States in 2004 to obtain his Ph.D. and attended Fenn College of Engineering at the Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio, where he has received doctoral dissertation research expense award. He worked as a research and teaching assistant during his Ph.D. within the Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering. He then worked at the University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware, USA as a NIH postdoctoral fellow until 2010. The same year he was appointed as Assistant Professor of Medical Biochemistry at the Acibadem University, Istanbul, Turkey. He is a member of TauBetaPi (American National Engineering Honor Society), Turkish Biochemistry Society and founder member of the Turkish Proteomics Association, where he has acted as a Vice President between 2011 and 2014. Dr. Can is acting as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Vice President of the Distance Learning Application and Research Center, Vice President of The Health Policies Research and Application Center at the Acibadem Mehmet Ali Aydinlar University. Dr. Can became an Associate Professor of Medical Biochemistry in 2016 and is currently a faculty member of the Department of Medical Engineering, Acibadem Mehmet Ali Aydinlar University.
