General Information


Assist. Prof. Dr. Deniz Yucel graduated from Middle East Technical University, Department of Biological Sciences in 2001. Dr. Yucel received her MSc and PhD degrees in Department of Biotechnology from the Middle East Technical University in 2003 and 2009, respectively. During her PhD Dr. Yucel went to United States as a visiting researcher by the support of Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) Integrated PhD Grantee and she worked for one year at Massachusetts General Hospital - Harvard Medical School and at Tufts University. She is a member of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS), the Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Society (Turkey), Turkish Society for Electron Microscopy, International Federation of Societies for Histochemistry and Cytochemistry and European Microscopy Society. Her research areas are biomaterials (2D and 3D polymeric material designs), tissue engineering, stem cells, construction of biosensors and enzyme/protein immobilization on polymeric materials. She has been working as a faculty member in School of Medicine, Department of Histology and Embryology at Acibadem University since 2011.
