Dr. Bukem Tanoren received her BSc degree from Physics Department in Bogazici University in 1998 and MSc degree from the same department in 2001. During MSc studies, she worked in ATLAS experiment at CERN. Her MSc thesis was about fabrication of thin films and determination of their electrical properties. After obtaining PhD degree in 2007 about polymer humidity and gas sensor, from Physics Department in Bogazici University, she continued her studies as a research fellow in London Center for Nanotechnology at Physics and Astronomy Department of University College London in United Kingdom. She worked in Dogus University, Yeditepe University and Piri Reis University as assistant professor. Then, she became research assistant professor in Medical Physics Department in Bogazici University. She currently works in Medical Engineering Department of Acibadem University as assistant professor and continues her research in Bogazici University. Her main research topics are the use of acoustic microscopy in imaging of biological materials, the examination of importance of biocompatible quantum dots in diagnosis and imaging, designation of aneurysm and atherosclerosis and imaging of the effect of chemotherapeutic drugs on cells.
