Dr. Bukem Tanoren received her undergraduate degree in 1998 from Department of Physics in Bogazici University. She received her master's degree from the same department in 2001 in the field of Solid State Physics. During her graduate studies, she also took part in the ATLAS experiment at the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN). She received her PhD from the same department in 2007 with her research on Optical Sensor. Afterwards, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Department of Physics in Bogazici University, to develop an Optical Humidity Sensor. She started working at Dogus University in 2008 and gave support to the Turkish Accelerator Center Project. In 2010, she worked as a researcher in Department of Physics and Astronomy at University College London. After returning to Turkey, she worked at Yeditepe University and Piri Reis University. Returning to Department of Physics in Bogazici University as a postdoctoral researcher in 2016, she started working on the Multimodal Biomedical Microscopy Development Project supported by the Strategy and Budget Department of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey. She came to Medical Engineering Department in Acıbadem University in 2020 and later became the department head of the Department of Natural Sciences established in the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences.
