ince the beginning of its existence on Earth, nature has been one of humanity’s most essential sources of medicine and health. With the fusion of its infinite richness and remarkable biodiversity with the rapidly advancing technological possibilities of our time, research on natural health products is gaining increasing attention in the scientific world.

With its rich flora and history as the home of many ancient civilizations, Türkiye is among the most significant countries in terms of traditional folk medicine knowledge. The addition of modern communication opportunities to this wealth makes the production and dissemination of scientifically validated information on the subject more crucial than ever.

Established in 2025 within the Faculty of Pharmacy at Acıbadem University, the ACUNAT Research Group was founded with these motivations in mind. It is a research community dedicated to conducting scientific studies on natural health products and developing new solutions for modern medicine.

Our research areas include identifying bioactive compounds obtained from plants and other natural sources and evaluating their potential as drug candidates. Additionally, we focus on scientifically investigating the foundations of traditional herbal and natural health products that have been identified as part of traditional treatment methods. Furthermore, we conduct quality control analyses of products marketed under various labels and claims.

To achieve these goals, ACUNAT employs a wide range of pharmacological activity models and utilizes various chromatographic techniques for qualitative and quantitative analyses.
