Professor Burak Pamukcu was graduated from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. He obtained doctorate degree in Cardiology from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine Department of Cardiology. He worked as postdoctorate fellow in the same clinic in 2005. After his mandatory military service he has returned back to his institution. Dr. Pamukcu made his post doctorate fellowship (European Society of Cardiology Atherothrombosis Research Fellowship) in the University Department of Medicine, Centre for Cardiovascular Sciences, City Hospital, Birmingham, England, United Kingdom under the supervision of Prof Gregory Y H Lip. In the atherosclerosis, thrombosis and vascular biology unit he has performed researches on the role of monocyte subtypes in acute coronary syndromes and heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and atherosclerosis. He became associate professor of cardiology in 2011. Dr. Pamukcu is mainly interested in atherothrombosis, atherosclerotic heart vessel disease, antithrombotic therapy and interventional cardiology. Dr. Pamukcu is working as a Consultant Cardiologist in Acibadem Kozyatağı Hospital since 2017. He is also serving as professor of cardiology in Acibadem Mehmet Ali Aydinlar University since 2019. He has published 100 scientific publications and served as referee for more than thirty different medical journals indexed in SCI expanded. He is serving as editor, associate editor and editorial board member at peer reviewed medical scientific journals and books.
