Özet

A new method for the surface modification of used tyre rubber (UTR) has been developped. The method involves hydrosilylation of ground tyre rubber with trichlorosilane (TCS) under various reaction conditions. The reaction has been carried out with and without solvents/catalysts (Karstedt's catalyst/Pt catalyst). Hydrosilylation of TCStreated UTR particles generated hydrosilylated rubber powder being functionalised with silanol groups. ATR-FTIR, solid state 13C NMR spectroscopy, and TGA evidenced the hydrosilylation of the rubber particles.
