Özet

Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) is a group of autosomal recessive disorders arising from defective steroidogenesis caused by mutations of genes which encode enzymes of cortisol biosynthesis. Despite optimal glucocorticoid replacement therapy, patients have to struggle with a variety of problems; impaired fertility is one of them. The reasons for infertility include anovulation, progesterone hypersecretion, testicular adrenal rest tumors, virilization of external genitalia, impaired psychosocial development, negative effects of unsuccessful genital surgery, and reduced heterosexual partnership.
