Özet

Objective: Mechanical failure and inflammatory response are two mechanisms proposed for the development of Modic changes, even though they have not been clearly demonstrated, yet. Diabetes mellitus (DM) harbors micro- and macroangiopathy due to the irreversible glycation of proteins, increased oxidative stress, and inflammation. In this study, we aimed to identify whether DM was associated with Modic changes in terms of inflammatory process.
