Özet

The aim of the study was to observe the effects of preoperative oral fluid intake and different acid aspiration prophylaxis regimens after fluid intake on the gastric residuel volume (GRV), pH and aspiration risk (AR: GRV>0.4 mL/kg ve pH<2.5) in patients undergoing elective caeserean section. 150 patients without any oral intake were divided in randomized 6 groups. GI: nil by mounth, GII: 30 mL 0.3 molar Na-citrate PO 20 rain before surgery (BS), GIII: 200 mL water PO 2 h BS, GIV: 200 mL water PO+50 mg ranitidine IV 2 h BS, GV: 200 mL water PO+40 mg omeprazole IV 2 h BS, GVI: 200 mL water PO+10 mg metoclopramide IV 2 h BS. GRV and pH were measured after intubation and before extubation and AR was estimated. We concluded that preoperative oral fluid intake does not increase the GRV and change pH. Regarding the effectiveness on AR GV, GIV and GII respectively can be useful methods. For decreasing the AR at extubation period suction of the stomach is an effective method.
