Pilomatricomas also known calcifying epitheliomas were first described by Malherbe and Chenantais in 1880. The lesions are usually benign, relatively common in all of the tumors of the skin. They mostly make peaks in the first and sixth decades. The lesions, typically affects young individuals, most cases occurring in children. More than 50% of the lesions are found on the headneck region and 25-30% of the lesions are found on the upper extremities. Except the typical clinical presentation, different presentations of the tumor have been reported, recently. These atypical lesions have been named, bullous, bulla-like, anetodermic, atrophodermic and perforating. Despite the diagnosis of pilomatricomas are easy, rare variants can create some diagnostic problems. We reported two bullous pilomatricomas and we tried to interpret the naming process of these lesions, in the light of those reported in the literature. Written informed consent was obtained from the patients for publication of this case report. Copyright © 2012 by Türkiye Klinikleri.
