Özet

Different tools addressing cognitive functions, labor efficiency, headache triggers, perception and recognition of pain, loneliness, and headache related dependence as well as migraine are scrutinized in depth in this article. Additionally, a special test applied to measure sensory thresholds for pain research shall be presented to readers. Hence, clinicians and researchers shall gain different perspectives of headache and migraine besides ictal features of attacks through these instruments.

In this chapter, the instruments are introduced to readers as follows; Mig-SCog Scale, Work Productivity and Activity Impairment Questionnaire, Headache Triggers Sensitivity and Avoidance Questionnaire, Patient Global Impression of Change Scale, Patient Perception of Migraine Questionnaire—revised, Chronic Pain Acceptance Questionnaire-8, The Headache Acceptance Questionnaire, The Loneliness of Migraine Scale and Severity of Dependence Scale and Quantitative Sensory Testing. A comprehensive assessment of how migraine affects patients’ lives and functions can easily be conducted by clinicians and researchers by means of these tools and measurement techniques presented in this chapter. Through these tools and techniques, the optimal treatment and follow-up plan for each patient could be created in clinical setting.
