JOURNAL OF ESSENTIAL OIL BEARING PLANTS, cilt.10, sa.3, ss.251-258, 2007 (SCI-Expanded)
The essential oil compositions of aerial parts of Salvia macroclamys, S. verticillata ssp. amasiaca, S. virgata, S. multicaulis, S. firigida, S. microstegia and S. kronenburgii were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Their main constituents were found to be alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, 1,8-cineole, thymol, and caryophyllene oxide. Essential oil of S. multicaulis, S. kronenburgii, S. verticillata and the pure compounds alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, 1,8-cineole, linalool oxide and caryophyllene oxide were tested against E. coli, S aureus, K. pneumonia, and the yeast C.albicans.
