Özet
Introduction-Public: Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMU) treatment is a method used for the treatment of depression, neurological and psychiatric disorders, based on the principle of electromagnetic induction, electrically without the use of electrode, the stimulation of cerebral cortex and white ore pathways [1]. During the TMU process, unwanted side effects such as seizures, syncope, hearing disorders, local pain, headache, cognitive/neuropsychological changes may occur. Therefore, cases such as not being able to provide necessary information before the procedure and not disclosure of the procedure can create fear, anxiety and anxiety in patients [1]. In some studies conducted with patients with TMU; It was found that 94.4 %was anxiety, 92.5 %were incompatible or partially compatible [2,3]. For this reason, therapeutic nursing attempts are important in reducing the anxiety of patients with TMU treatment. This study was applied in cross -sectional design in order to determine the anxiety levels of patients undergoing TMU treatment. Method: Research was conducted in cross -sectional relationship seeker design. The universe of the study was formed by patients in the psychiatric clinic of a private psychiatric hospital and receiving outpatient TMU treatment. Since the study was planned as a cross -sectional study, 53 patients who agreed to participate in the research were interviewed without going to the sample. In the study, the “Introductive Features Information Form” prepared by the researchers and the Situation Anxiety Inventory (STAİ) scale were used. In the evaluation of the data obtained from the research, the SPSS for Windows 21 (Statistical Package for Social Science for Windows, Version 21.0) was used. All results were evaluated at the 95 %confidence interval, p <0.05 significance level. Results: Between the ages of 18-80, 67.9 %of the patients received information about male, 73.6 %TMU, 41.5 %of them were diagnosed with mood disorder. Patients' anxiety scores, 40.94 ± 1.74, was found to have moderate anxiety. Compared to sociodemographic information and status anxiety score, women's anxiety was significantly higher than men (p <0.05). When we look at the presence of mental illness in the family, women's anxiety scores were significantly higher than men (p <0.05). 1927 Conclusion and Recommendations: In the study, it was found that patients' anxiety scores were moderately, and that gender and the presence of mental illness in the family affected the level of anxiety in the treatment process. In order to contribute to the literature, it is recommended to conduct studies with more sample size related to TMU treatment, which becomes widespread in mental diseases.
