Özet

center dot Nerve injury during total hip arthroplasty (THA) is an uncommon but potentially devastating center dot The optimal surgical approach in THA has resurfaced as a topic of debate within the arthroplasty community recently.center dot Despite the oft-cited benefits of the direct anterior approach (DA), a higher incidence of lateral femoral cutaneous nerve and femoral nerve palsies has been reported with this approach.center dot This article reviews the literature on nerve injuries after THA and characterizes the influence of surgical approach on the risk of this complication.
