Özet

Gastric cancer is the fourth most common type of cancer. Curative treatments of gastric cancer are gastrectomy and lymphadenectomy. Esophagojejunal anastomotic leakage is one of the most serious complications that increase morbidity and mortality after total gastrectomy. The surgical error of anastomosing the esophagus to the ileum instead of the jejunum is uncommon, and to the best of our knowledge, our report is the first clinical case in the literature. Here, we present a patient with esophagoileostomy complicated with leakage after total gastrectomy.
