Purpose: This study was undertaken to determine the results of physical therapy and rehabilitation (PTR) in patients with brachial plexus injuries as well as to reveal their epidemiolojic characteristics Material and methods. Epidemiologic characteristics of the patients were evaluated and classified according to age, sex, profession, etiological factor, admission day, the number of therapy sessions, and rehabilitation results. Results: When we evaluated the results of thirty-two patients with brachial plexus injuries in the PTR programme, total improvement in 17 (53 12%) and partial improvement in 8 (25 00%) patients were observed; no improvement was observed in 4 (12.50%) patients and 3 (9 37%) patients who were referred to surgery. Conclusion: It was concluded that successful results could be obtained in patients with brachial plexus injuries by PTR to prevent various complications. We also conclude that being aware of epidemiologic features and prophylactic measures is very important in the management of brachial plexus injury.
